About the band - Founding members of The Red Stick Ramblers & The Pine Leaf boys - described as "two groups at the vanguard of the Louisiana cultural renaissance" -  joined together to form The Revelers. Cajun, Country, Blues, and Zydeco combine into a powerful tonic of roots music that's sure to get you moving.  The contagious danceable rhythms and rich sounds of the Revelers create the feel of a wild and wonderful Honky Tonk wherever they play.  As individuals, they are each in high demand having performed and recorded with Natalie Merchant, Linda Ronstadt, Yvette Landry, Preston Frank, Walter Mouton, Mamadou Diabate, Dirk Powell, Cedric Watson and Tim O'Brien to name a few. As a group they play with a sense of empathy and depth that can only be fostered after years of making music together.  Simply put, The Revelers are the next Louisiana supergroup.

The Bop Shop gathering will be an opportunity for fans and curious folks to learn more about The Revelers, the festival they started, The Black Pot Festival, which led to their involvement in Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations opportunity in an episode called “Cajun Country” where the band hosted a boucherie a traditional communal butchering of hogs, which, in turn, led to their landing a prominent
place in the HBO series
Treme in the 3rd season which airs in the fall of 2012.
